Andaman Fall is a little known and less explored beauty in the Doon Valley of Uttarakhand. It is an excursion to anyone who is in Doon Valley, particularly in Dehradun & Mussoorie. This fall is very unknown and less explored, hence should be on a travelers list when visiting Dehradun region.
NOTE: Andaman Fall is a water source for the nearby village Sitapur, So it is not recommended for tourists, as they already have many options in Dehradun to explore & exploit. A true traveler believing in sustaining and protecting the very core of nature should definitely visit this place.
The fall is in the district of Tehri Garhwal of Uttarakhand and is accessible from Dehradun City. Get to the chowk of Raipur in Dehradun and head towards Maldevta. Once in Maldevta, look for the famous shiv temple and take the first left, around 200 m after the temple, towards PPCL(ask the locals). Look out for the red bridge in the picture and take left (off-road) after the bridge.
After 500m, you will see another bridge(smaller one) and the area is called Sitapur(you will see the sign-board on the left side of the bridge).
Turn right and there is enough space to park your bike/ vehicle. The trek to the fall starts from here.
The trek is around 1 km(to the right). After around 100m, you will see a path downwards (towards the fall) and an another one heading to the villages above.
Walk down the trail along the water canals and the forest to reach another bridge which leads to the fall.
Andaman Fall is around 50-60 m in height and is by far the best fall near Dehradun, particularly because it is less explored and hence less exploited. The other villages are close by and before visiting the place, make sure your activities don't cause a problem to the villagers.
